Group benefits, rebuilt for the people who use them.
NuvioLife is a Canadian software company quietly replacing the renewal-and-rate-hike cycle with something employees actually open. Five wallet types, 48-hour reimbursements, and a dashboard your CFO can love. Built in Vancouver — for the 99% of Canadian employers the big carriers have ignored.
We started NuvioLife after watching too many good companies get squeezed out of meaningful coverage.
Group benefits in Canada have been broken for a decade. Premiums climb 8–14% a year. Plans get thinner. Employees stop using them. Finance teams lose visibility. The big carriers were never going to fix it — they make money on the dysfunction. So we built the alternative.

“A benefits plan should reward the people who actually show up, not the underwriter who hasn’t looked at the file in three years.”
That sentence is taped to the wall of our Vancouver office. It’s the test every decision we make has to pass — every product spec, every pricing change, every wallet rule. If a feature makes the renewal slicker but the employee’s life harder, we don’t ship it.
We’re a small team of operators, designers, and tax-and-benefits engineers who spent the last decade renewing group plans and watching premium-to-utilization ratios get worse every year. NuvioLife is the platform we wished we had.
Four principles that
shape every decision.
We didn't write these on a poster after we shipped. They came first, and they're the reason the platform looks the way it does. When we have to choose between an easier renewal for a broker and a faster reimbursement for a parent, we know which way to lean.
Employee-first by default.
Every product decision starts with the person submitting the receipt — not the carrier, not the broker, not the dashboard. If our average member doesn't open the app for 30 days, we treat it as a bug.
Transparent by construction.
Live cost forecasting, no surprise renewals, no claim black box. Every dollar your company allocates is visible — to finance, to HR, to the employee — from the moment it lands in a wallet to the moment it's reimbursed.
Composable, not packaged.
Five wallet types (HSA, LSA, PSA, WFH, FIN) you mix to fit your team — not three forced bundles. A 12-person studio in Halifax should not be paying for the same plan shape as a 220-person logistics company in Mississauga.
Canadian by design.
Built in Vancouver, hosted in Canada, aligned with PIPEDA, CRA Section 118.2, and provincial GST/PST/HST out of the box. Your data does not leave the country. Your support does not route to an offshore call center.
The math that the carriers don't want you to see.
These aren't aspirational. They're the working baselines we hold our platform to — measured across every NuvioLife plan in the wild.
Compared to traditional Canadian group plans, where utilization typically hovers around 41%, reimbursement runs 4–6 weeks, onboarding takes 60–90 days, and renewals land with 8–14% rate increases 30 days before they take effect.

A small Canadian team building the platform we wished we had.
We’re intentionally small and intentionally Canadian. Every part of NuvioLife — engineering, design, customer success, tax — is built and supported in-country, in the same time zones as the employers we serve.
Four disciplines. One mission.
